Hidden Patagonia is a private and flexible experience designed for travelers who want to explore beyond the main attractions. Travel through peaceful rural roads, native forests, hidden viewpoints, lakes, rivers, and small local communities while enjoying the freedom to stop, explore, and take in the scenery at your own pace.
There is no need to rush from one attraction to another. We adapt the experience to your interests, the weather, and the places we discover along the way.
Schedule For The Day:
08:00 — Pick-up
Pick-up from your accommodation and begin the journey around the quieter side of Lake Llanquihue.
08:30 — Rural Countryside & Hidden Viewpoints
Leave the main tourist routes and travel through rural roads, farms, and countryside landscapes. Stop at a few of Gaul Tours' scenic viewpoints for photographs and views of Lake Llanquihue and the volcanoes.
09:30 — Hidden Viewpoints & Landscapes
Discover lesser-known viewpoints with beautiful views of the lake, mountains, forests, and Volcán Osorno.
10:00 — Las Cascadas
Explore the small lakeside community of Las Cascadas and walk through native forest to Salto Las Cascadas. The waterfall is hidden in the Valdivian forest and the walk takes approximately 30–40 minutes from the parking area.
11:30 — Playa Las Cascadas
After the walk, relax by the lake and enjoy one of the area's beautiful views toward Volcán Osorno.
12:30 — Puerto Octay
Continue along the lake to Puerto Octay. Take a relaxed walk through the town, see its traditional architecture, and enjoy the atmosphere of one of the historic settlements around Lake Llanquihue. Puerto Octay is known for its German-influenced heritage and lakeside setting.
13:30 — Lunch
Stop at a local restaurant or café for lunch.
Lunch is not included.
14:30 — Puerto Octay Viewpoints
Visit one or two viewpoints around Puerto Octay for panoramic photographs of the lake, mountains and volcanoes.
15:00 — Hidden Lakeside / Countryside Stop
Continue exploring the quieter roads around the northern side of Lake Llanquihue. Depending on weather and conditions, stop at a quiet beach, rural landscape or another hidden viewpoint.
16:00 — Frutillar Countryside
On the return journey, explore some of the quieter countryside around Frutillar. This gives guests a glimpse of the agricultural landscape rather than simply visiting the main tourist center.
16:45 — Final Scenic Stop
One last photography stop before beginning the return journey.
17:30–18:00 — Drop-off
Return to your accommodation.
